PER SAPERNE DI PIU`SULLE TERME
Il termine deriva direttamente dalla cittadina belga Spa, nota fin dall'antichit¨¤ per le sue acque minerali.
La citta`dal nome Spa incominci¨° a svilupparsi nel XVI secolo, quando la reputazione delle sue acque favor¨¬ il suo commercio con gli altri paesi limitrofi. Grazie all'afflusso di turisti inglesi che frequentavano Spa sin da quel secolo, il nome della citt¨¤ ¨¨ divenuto un termine generico per il termalismo, dapprima in inglese e poi anche in altre lingue.
Tuttavia diverse fonti indicano una etimologia fantasiosa del termine, come ad esempio il falso acronimo "Salus Per Aquam", oppure la contrazione di "espa" (fontana in lingua Vallone) e altre numerose varianti paretimologiche.
¨¨ certamente da attribuire agli antichi romani la passione per le terme, usate da tutta la popolazione romana, come centro di benessere, svago, socializzazione e riposo, ed esportate in tutte le zone da loro colonizzate.
Oggi le aziende Spa offrono non solo trattamenti termali e terapeutici ma anche un grande spettro di servizi (ad esempio massaggi, saune, bagni turchi etc) per la salute e all'armonia del corpo e della mente.
Le terme romane erano degli edifici pubblici con degli impianti che oggi chiameremmo igienico-sanitari e rappresentavano uno dei principali luoghi di ritrovo durante l`antica Roma.
Esistevano due classi di terme, una pi¨´ povera destinata alla popolazione minuta e una destinata ai ricchi, che erano dei veri e propri monumenti e piccole citt¨¤ del benessere all'interno della stessa citt¨¤.
Le prime terme nacquero in luoghi dove era possibile sfruttare le sorgenti naturali di acque calde o dotate di particolari doti curative. Col tempo, soprattutto durante l`eta`imperiale, si diffusero anche dentro le citt¨¤, grazie allo sviluppo di tecniche di riscaldamento delle acque sempre pi¨´ evolute.
Le terme attuali si suddividono in terme calde e terme fredde con o senza acqua solfurea; in Cina alla Spa della BYTC abbiamo anche terme con erbe medicinali e medicine tradizionali con grande riscontro benefico.
In molti casi il ricovero in uno stabilimento termale richiede un permesso medico da parte del medico di base anche se molte terme hanno una sala medica cn dottori esperti.
Le acque termali sono considerate terapeutiche per l'apparato respiratorio, mentre i fanghi per le dermatiti e la pelle. Alcuni stabilimenti sono dotati di piscine di acque termali per la cura dei reumatismi e dolori di origine osteoarticolare.

 Storia della Beauty Farm (SPA).
Intorno al 1200, in Cina, si scoprirono nella zona nord dell`attuale capitale, delle praterie contenenti decine di pozze piene di acqua caldissima (anche 40 gradi centigradi). Subito i cinesi del tempo, trovarono beneficio dai bagni in queste pozze d`acqua calda (terme) e le soprannominarono ¡°le acqua d`oro¡±.
Poco dopo, si accorsero che queste acque calde avevano anche un potere estremamente curativo e le chiamarono ¡°le acque miracolose¡±ed oltre ad essere usate per bagni rilassanti furono usate anche a scopo terapeutico salutare.
Nel 1300 circa, durante la Dinastia Yuan (proveniente dalla mongolia), iniziarono battaglie popolari al fine di impossessarsi di queste praterie contenenti le ¡°acque miracolose¡± (che erano diventate gia`famose in tutto il nord della Cina dell`epoca). Taoisti, Buddisti, scienziati, banditi e guerrieri iniziarono a volere diventare padroni assoluti di queste acque per studiarle o per usarle ai fini personali.
KangXi, il secondo imperatore della dinastia Qing, amante dello studio delle scenze, prese con la forza il possesso di queste acque miracolose, ci fece costruire stanze accoglienti ai lati e le fece cosi` diventare una sorta di ¡°Beauty Farm¡± imperiale dell`epoca.
Alla sua morte pero`, la ¡°Beauty Farm¡± dell`imperatore KangXi venne distrutta da proprietari terrieri e banditi che ancora lottarono per anni per impadronirsi delle ¡°acque miracolose¡±.
Lunghi anni di lotta e di distruzione resero la ¡°Beauty Farm¡± imperiale una rovina e la gestione delle acque venne affidata dai vincitori di queste lotte a Taoisti della zona che se ne presero cura fino a quando nel 2002 la famiglia Zhang ne prese il pieno controllo.
Dopo averla restaurata, ed averci costruito ben 400 sale mediche ai lati (ogni stanza un trattamento differente di agopuntura, massaggi etc etc), la famiglia Zhang, per la prima volta rese la Beauty Farm (SPA) aperta al pubblico.
Nel 2006, dopo il grande successo riscontrato, si decide di rendere questa nuova Beauty Farm (SPA) aperta anche al pubblico straniero.

  Mud Bath |
The mud of the mud bath is a byproduct of the hotspring. It is mined from 1600 meters underground. The mud feels slithery because the granule of the mud is exiguous. Like the hotspring water, the mud is rich in mineral substance, organic matter, colloid granule, steroid, and vitamins. We also combine some herbs confected by the experienced doctors with the mud.
